My greatest joy is matching spiritual seekers with the information, assistance, and supplies they need to pursue their paths. I enthusiastically search out products that can bring benefit and positive energy to your life.
For most of my life I have been an interfaith worker, serving in many positions with spiritually based organizations. I have extensive experience in offering spiritual support to people, specifically in conducting wedding, memorial, baby naming, baptism. As an ordained interfaith minister with the Universal Life Church I am recognized by the State of California as a legal wedding officiant. I hold a BA degere in Religious Studies from CSU Fresno, and completed a 3 year ministry program at the Shogaku Zen Institute.

You will enjoy talking with Margaret. I planned on talking with her for 10-15 minutes and ended up talking for 30!
She does go by “witch”, and that both men and women are referred to by the term “witch”. She says that she is not a white witch – they are very sweet people – a little too airy fairy and new age. She is also not a black witch, they tend to do dark magick. She could be refered to as a grey witch. A grey witch will cast a spell for self defense, and this might even reflect the energy back on the offender and cause them harm, but that is not the initial intention.
She does follow lunar energy, but does not do Astrology.
She uses herbs and crystals and Candle magick – sort of popular right now – it is the use the flame of the candle, combined with oils, herbs and crystal and focusing intention. She generally does not cast spells on behalf of other people. She teaches people how to cast their own spells. It is a form of ministry and she feels it is more powerful if they do it for themselves. She will cast spells on behalf of others if they are sick. She does have apprentices.
She has a website (grannymagick.com) where she sells readings, herbs, smudge sticks, crystals, and other magickal items.
Why does she spell magick with a CK? This is used to separate her real magick from the slight of had magic that is done by magicians.
What is your view of the afterlife? She has an ancestor alter. Spirits are a big part of her practice. Her gifts have been handed down through her family.
Why is it called GrannyMagick? Her great grandmother was an appalachian witch. She says they referred to it as granny magick. They are christian and use the bible, saints, archangles as part of their craft. This is controversial for other witches since they incorporate Nordic and Greek dieties. The Portuguese dairy farmers in her area come to her because they have people like her in Portugal. The Portuguese are Roman Catholic and go to church on Sunday, but their spiritual beliefs also strongly include witches. Margaret uncludes God the Father, Goddess the Mother and the holy Child.
Her heritage is Scotts Irish. It was customary in her family for the oldest daughter to be raised by the grandmother. Her mother did not agree, but she had a close relationship with her grandmother nonetheless.
She has a relative that was hanged in Salem, Susannah North Martin. All she did was read a song, and spoke out against the judges. They were offered a pardon for Susanna, but her family said they don’t want a pardon, they want the land back. They did not get the land, but they did provide the pardon.
In her family they call it the Martin Birthmark – appears on the neck or the head – mother’s father’s side
She had been married for 35 years, her husband did not support this work. She ‘came out’ after their divorce. She re-started her spiritual gifts with a pastor (female) in Turlock, CA. She does this work and runs the website, including shipping all of the orders in order to support herself. She occasionally enlists her granddaughters to help.
She does do some healings. She has a strong link between tarot and her magick. Although she is going to be part of Tarot Palooza, she has been asked wait to promote Tarot Palooza because they are not ready.
Margaret is working on an Ebook about the link between magick and tarot
